Your selected personalisation will appear on ONE SIDE of the Plantabox and will only be in CAPITAL LETTERS.
If you chose to have Deposit 5/- OR F W Jones, this will appear on both ends of the large box (Deposit 5/- on small windowsill box too); it is not available on the square box planters.
We have three different sizes of lettering and will use the most appropriate size depending on the box size and number of characters requested.
Large Plantabox - max. no. of characters per line (incl spaces) is 20 (14 if using larger stencil)
Square Plantatbox - max. no. of characters per line (incl. spaces) is 14 (9 for largest stencil)
Small Plantabox - max. no. of characters per line (incl. spaces) is 16
Please note that we do not have any SMALLER CASE stencils so all personalisation will be in UPPER CASE.
Due to the way in which the website is set up, it is not possible for you to physically separate the two "lines" of text as it will appear on the box.
In order for us to be clear on what it is you would like on the box, and how you would like it to appear, please separate the two lines of text with a double "//" in the same input box.
For example, if you want the box the appear with the stencil "The Cottage" on the box,
(with the word "THE" on the first line, and the word "COTTAGE" on the second line)...
...please input the words in the form "THE//COTTAGE".
Finally .. . . . .PLEASE CHECK CAREFULLY YOUR SPELLING, GRAMMAR AND ANY DATES - we will only put what you instruct us to! |
Payment & Confirmation of Order
All website payments are handled by Actinic Payment, which accept all major credit / debit cards (including American Express).
When you are directed to the secure on-line payment you MUST click on "View Merchant Receipt". This will then submit the order to us. Otherwise, you will have paid but not actually submitted the order.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE RECEIVED TWO EMAILS. One from Plantabox and one from Actinic Ecommerce (or Credit Call). Please check your SPAM folder if not received.

Specific Delivery Date required?
We will always try to accomodate requests. However, as a rule it takes 5 working days to dispatch an order, sometimes slightly longer. The exception to this is the SOLID PINE TOY BOX which will take approx 12-14 days to arrive. Should your order be for an empty box, we should be able to dispatch these a little earlier.
We can deliver on Tuesdays-Fridays only for PLANTED CRATES.
Please specify your preferred delivery day on the order form under "DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS" and we'll email you if there is a problem. Ordering for a delivery ahead of time i.e in two/ three weeks is absolutely fine.

Gift Message
A final touch to this personalised gift is of course, your own personal message.
We supply a business card size (or larger if necessary) gift card, attached to a cardette holder, which is carefully inserted into the compost of the box. (If ordering an empty box, the card is tied to the box using twine)
Tell us your message and we'll write this on the card. If you'd like the card and holder left blank, so you can write your own message on, then just let us know.
The GIFT MESSAGE OPTION appears towards the end of the ordering process. |
Important Delivery Instructions needed
If you are ordering a Plantabox for someone else and having it delivered directly to them, we need instructions of where to leave the box if someone is not home.
If the box cannot be delivered, it will be returned to the local depot and an additional charge may be levied for trying to redeliver on another day.
When filling in the delivery address, under "Delivery & Handling" please detail any instructions for leaving the box if no-one is in.
This is especially important if a PLANTED Plantabox. The plants or herbs may well perish if not delivered the next day. |
Delivery costs
I'm sure you've heard of the saying "you get what you pay for" well this is very true of courier services! We decided in 2007 that we would use a more expensive carrier who offered a "security" service to ensure our products reached their destination in the best possible condition. This means that all planted Plantaboxes are man-handled and kept seperate from general parcels as opposed to thrown on a conveyor belt. They are also under constant surveilance!
Also our planted large Plantaboxes are heavy - weighing approx. 15kg. We are charged as to weight and only pass on to the customer the actual cost of carriage, although in some cases we do even absorb some of the cost.
Please note that all planted, large and square crates are dispatched via an overnight courier BUT the small empty crates are dispatched via standard parcel through the post office and take 2-3 working days to arrive. |  |
Delivery Areas Covered
Our delivery costs apply to mainland UK.
Please email us BEFORE placing an order for any deliveries toIsle of Man, Isle of Wight, Scottish Islands, Northern and Southern Ireland and the Channel Islands. As an indication, an empty Large Plantabox would cost in the region of £11 - £15 for delivery.
We regret that we cannot deliver any PLANTED goods to the Scottish Islands, Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, Isle of Wight or either Northern or Southern Ireland. |
Plants & Herbs Used
Our pictures give you an idea of how the various boxes will look. The actual plants used will vary from week to week but will always be of similar variety and value. If you wish to know exactly what will be in the box then please give us a ring or email.
We do our best to use a combination of shrubs, perennials and annuals to ensure some interest after the initial season that the Plantabox has been ordered in.
Summer/Winter bedding - we use plants that are just coming into bloom, rather than have been in bloom for some time and likely to loose their attractive appearance within a few weeks. However, we always make sure that on opening the Plantabox, the recipient will find the array of plants attractive and pleasing to the eye.
We reserve the right to change herbs used, and will ensure they are of equal value. |
Moving the Plantabox around, once planted.
The large and square Plantaboxes can be quite heavy when planted up. You have the option of ordering a set of four wheels, which can be fixed to your Plantabox, free of charge. See our "Accessory" section for more details - a set of wheels is only £6. |
