5 Décor Details for a Traditional Country Wedding

It may have taken its time, but the sun has finally arrived and brought with it the wedding season. June is the traditional time to get married and has been since the time of the Romans. Nowadays, weddings come in all themes and styles but the most popular is still the traditional country wedding. Its simple, cosy and rustic nature make the event feel homey and relaxed, but decorating in this style can feel overwhelming. But don’t worry, we’ve got 5 tips to help your decor feel traditional instead of topsy-turvy!

Signage

The wedding day isn’t just stressful for the bride and groom; it can be stressful for the guests too! Putting signage around your venue will help your wedding party arrive on time and settle into the mood of the day. Our personalised wedding signs are available in a variety of subtle and delicate colours and come with an optional stick for putting your sign in the ground.

Embroidered Ring Hoop

Lace, silk and satin are commonly used fabrics and embellishments at traditional country weddings, especially in dresses. Delicate and elegant, they add a timeless grandeur to the day. Don’t just restrict these gorgeous fabrics to the bride’s and bridesmaids’ dresses!

Swap a velvet, ring bearer’s pillow for a lace hoop that can be made at home! You will need:

  • An embroidery hoop of your desired size
  • Fabric. Lace it perfect, but you can use whatever suits your taste and decor. Top Tip! Many charity shops sell beautifully embroidered tablecloths that can be cut to size.
  • Fabric Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • Needle and thread

Simply stretch the fabric between the two hoops, making sure the design is in the middle. When you have tightened the fabric hoop, stitch the ribbons to the top. These will hold the rings. Then, cut away the excess fabric from the outside of the hoop and voila

Order of the Day Sign

The best wedding guests are relaxed wedding guests. Help them out by placing a sign that displays the order of the day at the wedding or reception venue. Our personalised wedding time planners come in colours to complement every wedding theme. Multiple colours? No problem! Simply select which colours you want when adding the sign to your basket!

Confetti Baskets

One of the reasons that traditional country weddings are so popular is their connection to nature. Wildflower bouquets, outdoor settings, picnic-style food, there are so many ways to connect with the outdoors at your wedding. Why not stretch that to your confetti too? Small wicker baskets are cheap to buy and can be filled with confetti for multiple people to use! You’ll find them in charity shops.  Fill your basket with dried leaves and flowers for an extra eco-friendly, nature-filled celebration!

Centrepiece Crate

Want a traditional country wedding with a rustic edge? Why not opt for crates to store your beautiful flowers? Perfectly practical and beautifully designed, not only are our personalised wedding crates ideal for centrepieces, they can serve as a reminder of your special day for anniversaries to come!
